they haven't even been in the house a full week yet, have they?

And I like to think part of Jill as just given up and the song " let it burn" by usher or some other fire related song is playing like background music in her head. Or was before art showed up

Maybe she's thinking of "Let it Go" :P

That must be a new record of starting a fire. Seriously, have they even been there for one day? Let alone one hour?
I'm a little surprised that Art didn't see the flames at all. Is he so in his own happy little world that he didn't notice it? Or is he just trying to look on the bright side of things?
:heartArt: I'm in a new house!
:amazeArt: The house is on fire!!!
:heartArt: But it smells so good!

.....how did it become a grease fire? Didn't this start with metal in the microwave, or did we miss something?
... Maybe they made a second fire to see if it would get rid of the first one?
A fair question. :dropPete: It's been long enough that my memory of writing this is hazy, but what I think I intended was that the oil in the Jiffy Pop pan ignited when aggressively reheated and things just got more out of hand from there. It is also entirely possible I just screwed up.

Well, I just want to mention that you can indeed beat out a fire, so Alex isn't wrong per se. I've just never had the chance to try a grease fire, so I don't really have experience with that.

I do find it amusing that it's Alex who seems to be berating Pete the most out of this. I guess Jill gave up a long time ago.

You can smother a fire, but I think it would be a disaster if the substance that was burning could splash. God, I hope nobody gets their firefighting tips from webcomics.
