Interesting page and again this is definitely not the direction I thought their date (if you could call it that) was going. Right now I'd say Miles and Rachael are more likely to become close friends than form a romantic relationship. I'm wondering in the last panel is it Rachael asking Miles the question or the other way round?

Nah Geecku just broke a faucet, track mud and raided the fridge. Sarah caused the whole farm to go haywire. Depends on the cost of repairs in the end I guess.

As for the people spying on sarah depends on the writers. Its one of the few tings fallen to the wayside in this comic.

Oh you mean when she threw Digits control module in the well.
Kinda forgot about that. But if she hadn't done that Rachael might've left (along with Sarah)

Possibly. But, they could've been her actual parents. She might be the new queen Ambar mentioned.
She does have striking similarities with Kate. And we know from the discontinued series "Crest Diaries" that Kate was a Princess. Though I don't know how much remains canon due ot being discontinued and Sarah could just have the same colour varriation, but it's a possible theory tho.

My theory about the "background villains" right now is that it's a private agency hired by someone to locate Sarah. Could be her parents, could be the orphanage or the government. It's a bit flimsy, I'll admit. There are a lot of possibilities right now. We'll just have to see how/if this plays out.

Also, if Miles and Rachael stay as friends, maybe they can date some other primes that they'll be happy with. Maybe Sander and Sandy, the Sagebrush twins Sunny hired to help Minos. Or Miles can run unexpectedly to Hope and start over and maybe she'll bring along Toby as her bodyguard and maybe take Rachael on her first date.

But that's just a theory...a KB theory.

So Rachel stole the potential and experiences that Sara would have encountered. Then Rachel is comparing Miles in the same light? Is it that he is robbing experiences from Hope, Taffy and potentially Rachel? I'm not quite sure what the comparison between the two are when Rachel dragged others with him, Perhaps its Miles was looking for someone to take with him but never succeeded whereas Rachel succeeded doing what Miles did and dragged Sara?

The implication is that any girlfriend that Miles get with while he pursues his overly fantasized goals of freedom will lose any possible chances of happiness because is just selfish of character he is because plot.

Rachael not only admitting that she was selfish in taking Sarah with her, but willing to share this confession with someone. I was expecting Miles to be the character with the most development, in this arc, but it looks like Rachael's showing the most growth, now.

It seems like Rachael is using her own mistakes as something of an allegory to Miles' need to find happiness through others. Him asking for Rachael to live on the road with him is the latest example, but I guess the same could be said about his relationship with Hope and Taffy. Hence, Rachael sees Miles as selfish and only looking out for what makes him happy. Rachael is running the risk of being something of a hypocrite, but I suppose that's not the case if she's at least willing to acknowledge that she was wrong.

I'm also wondering about Rachael's dialog in the third panel, and how she's saying that Sarah would have had tons of friends and been happy. I'm wondering if she means that Sarah would've been adopted by a loving family and lived a normal life where she made friends through school, or if this is a hint that Sarah might be this mysterious heir that Minos and Ambar were talking about, before. It's still pretty uncertain who the heir is, and all we know is that they're at Las Lindas. Still, between Minos and Ambar talking and that weird surveillance bit at the harvest festival, I think there's a strong possibility it could be Sarah.

Lastly, I am curious to see how Miles will take all of this. Him and Rachael aren't dating now or the best of friends, but at least she's opening up. This is a pretty big improvement from just being around to give sass and make remarks about him, like before. I could see Miles still wanting to pick up and leave -- even though it isn't really a feasible lifestyle choice. However, I'm hoping he sees where he made some mistakes and we see him do a little soul-searching instead of running off and doing something reckless.

Er...no. Please take the chip off the shoulder for a minute. That was not a statement about any two active players, and certainly not about Miles's love life. It's a matter of mindset. A recurring flaw of Miles is difficulty really seeing things from other people's perspectives, and consequentially he's been unable to see that his actions have repercussions beyond himself. This doesn't necessarily make him a bad person, but it is reflective of...well, a certain selfishness in his mindset. In the case of Rachael, she originally viewed running away with Sarah as an intrinsic good - the best thing for both of them - purely because it was what she wanted. The cost/benefit analysis of Sarah's adoption went no further than "I lose this person who is important to me, thus it is a bad thing" and the analysis for kidnapping her stopped at "I get to keep my sister, thus it is a good thing".

Miles has sporadically shown a similar mindset, with one of the more direct instances of it being seen in the hiring arc. Minos was a terrible fit for HR, but Miles took a bad situation and actually made it worse. He cared about getting the job done with the bare minimum of effort, not doing the legwork to get the best people for the jobs. "You look like a people person", he says to the girl carrying a metal club. No resume? Hired for "thinking green". Difficulty speaking English(?)? Hired for speaking another language (How relevant is that language and how the heck does that relate to work on a farm?)

The hiring event was really emblematic of this flaw. He takes on the role because he figures he can bum Minos for several days off in exchange for a few hours of HR work, and he tries to get the job done quickly instead of doing it well. Basically, the only result he saw or cared about was that in doing so he'd get some time off...nevermind that he works on tech stuff which Minos has shown no aptitude for, or how his hiring choices potentially impacted the farm. As far as he was concerned, the only result that mattered was that which impacted himself. It is that mindset that Rachael is saying is similar to her own past.

Okay, is it just me or does it seem rather odd that Rachel would be revealing all of this to Miles of all people given his rather shady personality? Then again, Geecku did tell him about the whole her and Minos being Crests and/or super old and using the threat of violence against him.

Its like a pen and paper advantage of having a trust worthy face. He looks like a guy you can tell your life story too... but only looks that part.

Rachael is doing pretty much the same thing Miles was, saying "You're like me, you just don't see it." The truth is, they aren't that much alike: Rachael's sins - taking Sarah, stealing to survive - are more tangible than the havoc Miles has caused for people emotionally, but she also shaped up a lot faster than he did. The things that unite them are thematic rather than specific. Both of them regret the people they've been in the past, but not enough to dislike the people they've made themselves into. Rachael might have a moral leg up on Miles because she's acknowledged her failures in ways that he hasn't, but he's trying harder than she is to actually get something out of life. She has insight without purpose; he has motivation without clarity.

What's really interesting to me is that both of them want the other to be like they are. Miles believes Rachael has an emotional kinship with him that's deeper than their personal spats, and Rachael believes Miles is not beyond a little enlightenment. I'm not at all sure either of them is right, but it's fascinating to see them lay out their perspectives like this. I've never shipped the two of them, but I like the idea that her insights can give him orientation, and that he can give her something worth trying for.

Whoa, heavy page. Looks like Rachael has been dealing with some understandable regret. But knowing Sarah, I don't think Rach would have choice in the matter. xD

And side note: I like R's little Sarah drawing. If memory serves me right, one of Rach's teachers said she was pretty good at drawing.

Also, if Miles and Rachael stay as friends, maybe they can date some other primes that they'll be happy with. Maybe Sander and Sandy, the Sagebrush twins Sunny hired to help Minos.
Hehe, Rachel & Miles dating the Sagebrushes... I don't think the farm could house all that mischief. xP

Awwwww so good of her to do so too...makes me wonder if she has actually shared this confession with Sarah...you know the one who actually matters in that circumstance...
