Damn it. Literally ten minutes ago I thought to myself, "I never got a chance to see a Romero movie in a theater, but maybe there's still time." Night of the Living Dead is an all-time horror classic and Dawn of the Dead is my favorite film (tie, with the 1930s screwball comedy Ninotchka). His non-zombie stuff is worth seeing too - Season of the Witch and The Crazies and maybe even Bruiser, for those with patience. He had a unique voice and his inability to ever raise real money for his movies kept his productions interesting. This is a loss for horror cinema as a whole and shoelace-budget horror cinema in particular.

Well, this stinks! Night of the Living Dead was one of my favorite horror movies back in the day too.
