Well most of us figured this was coming. Eone is about to face some very serious consequences for her insubordination in the field!

Shaddig raised a very good point in the second to last panel: "A dragon never lets her emotions dictate her actions." Does that apply to the Queen as well? I gotta figure her emotions played a key part in her decision to send Lady Red to hunt down Kilani.

That's quite the epic bombshell to drop. I'm curious to know who she had to prevent from committing suicide first.

Well someone is in trouble. Though I can't decide which earth dragon is going to face the music. At least two of them each did something to rub Red the wrong way.

I wonder if this might have repercussions? The earth dragons after-all have been the subject of being a lesser citizen in dragon society for some time from the sound of things. So Lady Red's actions could possibly be seen as a move to further repress earth dragons.

Men you just forgot that lady Red in begin be free to choice companions for the mission to capture Kilani. She try call our known earth dragons, but Eone refuse mentioning that earth dragons builders and pacifists, not fighters. What doing lady Red? She forcefully consprict earth dragons due loophole of their law. Why you think they must act absolutely competent due this reasons? If you desire blame someone, blame lady Red for her choice of companions. Is actually she put mission and her career into risk.

How many times I must repeat this? Lady Red don't desire that earth dragons being arrested! She promise to them that all be alright. And if earth dragons be arrested this prove words of Eone about 'pawn' part into her blaming and this end trusting of Eone to Red. Lady Red very clearly don't desire this. Oh and for stubborn people, earth dragons actually help despite hard situations in mission. Arresting them it is truly betrayal.

Let's be clear here: I was referring to Eone's, Meta's, and Saph's behavior on the mission, mainly Eone's. I was not calling into question their ability to perform. Eone was the one behind much of the earth dragons not doing as much as they could, and should, have done during the mission and don't think for one moment that escaped Lady Red's notice. She was also extremely rude, hostile, and defiant right to Red's face. It got to the point where even Meta had had enough and she told Eone to stop because she realized Eone wasn't doing the earth dragons any favors. That entire mission was nearly lost and while not all of it was the fault of the earth dragons much of it can be blamed on this lack of cooperation which Eone instigated.

Then why call the royal gaurd to make an arrest in the first place? They already have Kilani and are having her escorted. I'm sorry to say, a dragon is being arrested from the looks of things and only two dragons did anything to merit something like this.

And let's not forget the word

Frankly it's kind of understandable why Eone would be so cranky. When you really get down to it, the Earth dragons already did so much for Dragon civilization with being the ones that actually built much of the info structure that society sits on.

And what do they get for it? Being second class citizens to a government with a racist queen that would rather grind development to a halt to pursue her own anger driven goals for vengeance and war.

So here the earth dragons are, jumping through another set of hoops just to get moving on up and get their slice of the pie. While the queen of dragons is just waiting for an excuse to knock them all down again. Sometimes I wonder if it would just be easier for the Earth dragons to all get up and leave to develop their own civilization?

For what this part of message? You seriosly think that I doesn't know what competence and insubordination at all?

They should? They should because they forcefully conspricted? They should because even lady Red (figure that they trusted) spit on their choice (earth dragons try get favour be doing peaceful things not war things)? Why they must be VERY cooperative if only one reason showing (not get thing worse and just pray that earth dragons not conspricted again into military service)? I agree with you that Meta did wise and nice thing in this situation. But what about Eone? You blame her for her shitty attitude during mission, but I think she release all anger that amass in her due things that happen with her and earth dragons (Jail, forced consprict, Saph, no trusting "earth sense" and all). Seriosly such a feeling that Eone just release all shit and soon get back to normal.

Then why call the royal gaurd to make an arrest in the first place? They already have Kilani and are having her escorted. I'm sorry to say, a dragon is being arrested from the looks of things and only two dragons did anything to merit something like this.
Escorting Kilani to the jail of course. Lady Red and crew of mission bring Kilani to the palace. No one say that they must bring Kilani literally to her cage. It now duty of lady Schaddig and I put 100% that Pyra and Ember called to help lady Schaddig bring Kilani to cage or jail. Arresting someone from crew of mission right now is very silly. Especially when scene where Oscura give such kind of order not showed or existed (lady Red can't do this because she not telepath and don't wish that earth dragons get jailed).

Frankly it's kind of understandable why Eone would be so cranky. When you really get down to it, the Earth dragons already did so much for Dragon civilization with being the ones that actually built much of the info structure that society sits on.

Correction. Lady Red try earn this kind of favour for them. Even when earth dragons don't desire this in that kind of way.

For your question. One word "elixir". Queen of dragons have political and biological power over all dragons by access to that "elixir". And I think formula of this elixir knowed only by royal members of society. This is why earth dragons can't just walk away. They no have elixir = they no have babies (just infertile eggs). Things make worse that all earth dragon's babies stored into nursery, if earth dragons just walk away queen born new brood of earth dragons for exchange. If male dragons not leave all things can be changed.

I included those definitions because for starters I'm left with the impression that English is not your primary language. When I first read your initial response to me above I honestly thought you had gotten the two terms confused.

Did Lady Red make a mistake in forcefully conscripting the earth dragons? Yes, but her main mistake there was in taking what were essentially raw fresh recruits with no military training or experience and throwing them right into the mix, trusting that she and her fire dragons could handle things when trouble arose. It's a mistake I doubt she'll ever make again.

Next, I don't blame Eone for feeling how she does but the manner and time in which she expressed those feelings, combined with the fact that she was having the earth dragons do as little as possible, was completely inappropriate and very dangerous. She blew her top at a time that could and nearly did ruin the mission. They were out in the middle of a forest being forced to walk, losing their key advantage of flight, during the middle of the night, with multiple hostile tigers around and no idea where those tigers were save one (Kess). To have an argument with one's commanding officer at such a time, when it's critical that she stay focused on completing the mission and keeping her group alive, placed every last single one of them in jeopardy. It was a needless distraction that further divided their group at a bad time (Red sending Cinder back to get Kighan) and fueled the growing distrust between the two groups of dragons. Honestly the main reasons things didn't go worse for the dragons is that a number of the tigers were already worn out and injured from their torment at the palace and the fight in the Calera as well as the overall plot of the comic. Had Kess's group been in better shape, or perhaps Aika's group been just a little bit faster on getting there, this whole mission could have been for naught and with more dragons besides Kighan being severely injured or dead.

Engrish, I spiek et!!!

Okay, okay, no joking anymore about that. Yeah, you're right, english not my primary language. But we are not talk about this right now.

Dude, I'm in begin don't against that dragons defending themselves or fight with tigers to complete their mission. I against idea of forced military consprict and instant arrest of earth dragons. Seriosly, Eone of course deserve blaming for her anger and insubordination, but putting her into jail or others after they help in some ways in mission it's just radical. I'm just very surprised when people begin write in comments how fast earth dragons must get punished for insubordination. Many blame earth dragons for this in comments and completely forgot that lady Red play key role too in this. Consprict dragons without military experience it's truly big risk. When Eone begin "broke limit" I'm glad that Meta cooled her by talking. And all that conflict is really painful. Anyway I happy that all things end without big injuries.

I hope it's enough for you to understand my position about earth dragons?
