7 damage? Phil threw a vial of acid, which does 1d6 damage and 1 point of splash damage. How is it so strong?
Alchemists in Pathfinder apply their Intelligence modifier to both the base damage and splash damage of splash weapons. They tend to utterly destroy encounters early levels, but tapper off a bit when you get to around level 6-7.

You know, I think since this is a game, Phil may just unleash his inner vicious side thru his character. We all have some kind of vicious and mean side... most just keep it well controlled and hidden,... :reptilefuryBoris:

And by tapper off a bit you mean they switch to specialized bombs while maintaining a strong support roll. They stop ending encounters with a single action and instead control the encounter by causing status effects with their bombs to hinder and they provide a bunch of odd but useful spells and can get major discounts on creating healing potions for everyone to use.

Yeah, they go from "And I kill everything" to "And I throw a bomb at it and hope the fighter cuts it in half on his turn" around that level. I know that since my father plays one in Pathfinder Society.
